Immediately after the screening, The Epoch Times senior editor and host of "American Thought Leaders" Jan Jekielek emceed a panel of experts and commentators, including William Shipley, a 21-year DOJ prosecutor turned defense attorney; national security expert and former national intelligence strategist Tom Speciale; Heritage Institute Oversight Project Director Mike Howell; Sarah McAbee, the wife of a Jan. 6 detainee who's been separated from her husband for years in the wake of his arrest; and The Epoch Times senior investigative reporter Joseph Hanneman, host and writer of the documentary. Jeff Clark, the former assistant attorney general under President Donald Trump and a co-defendant in President Trump's Georgia election case, urges Americans to watch the documentary. "I think everyone should want to be well-informed," he said. "Watching a movie like this would help people to get a broader perspective. And then they can start to ask questions and ask for a balanced investigation by Congress." "I just have to thank Epoch Times for being those journalists that are utilizing our First Amendment rights to freedom of press, freedom of speech, being the honest broker in terms of trying to expose and tell the American people the truth," praised Sen. Johnson. "All I could ask of anybody here in the audience or listening in a later video tape is please try and find out what the truth is, discern it. Look up sites like Epoch Times, subscribe," implored Sen. Johnson. "We haven't even begun to be told the full story, which means the truth about January 6." |

You Are Helping Our Youth |
The Epoch Times PM of Subscriptions Chris Bob speaks at the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington on May 29, 2023. (Madalina Vasiliu/The Epoch Times). |
I went into college with a choice: either go to law school or enter the seminary. When I arrived, I discovered that young people are being sold on the merits of socialism and told that patriotism is problematic. As a student, I often felt like an intellectual punching bag, discouraged from standing up for our country and its values. Three generations after my family fled the Soviet Union for my future, my professors and peers were cheering that socialism is our future. We aren't given enough information to form our own opinions and aren't exposed to diverse viewpoints. If I had just accepted the readings I was assigned, the books I had to purchase, and the articles I had to annotate, I wouldn't be writing this letter. I was blessed to find The Epoch Times, a resource that stood out to me not only as truthful but dependable—a tool I used to defend my country and myself. Supportive Americans from The Epoch Times community such as you have given me the courage to change my career aspirations and make truthful, independent journalism my mission. From my experience, I learned that the horror of censorship isn't that one is robbed of an opportunity to speak one's piece, it's that one is robbed of an opportunity to hear the truth. Because I experienced this first-hand, I understand the importance of a reliable source of information. I want more students to have access to our journalism, and your donation makes that possible. I'm thankful for your support and for giving young people like me the chance to hear the truth. |
